Capcom has rolled out Monster Hunter Wilds hotfix 1.000.05.00 across all platforms, bringing crucial improvements and fixes to enhance your gaming experience. This patch tackles various progression blockers and resolves numerous bugs, although it doesn't include any performance enhancements as detailed in the patch notes below.

Despite its record-breaking launch, Monster Hunter Wilds currently holds a 'mixed' user review rating on Steam, primarily due to performance issues on PC. However, the game's success is undeniable, having sold an impressive 8 million copies in just three days, making it the fastest-selling Capcom game ever. It also boasts the fifth highest concurrent player count on Steam, peaking at 1,384,608 players, surpassing the likes of Dota 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and Elden Ring. For comparison, Monster Hunter: World reached a peak of 334,684 players.

Looking ahead, a title update for Monster Hunter Wilds is slated for early April, promising a new endgame area for gathering and more monster hunting action for players to dive into.

Issues addressed as of March 10, 2025:

• The “Grill a Meal” and “Ingredient Center” features can now be unlocked after meeting the progress criteria.
• Fixed an issue where players would fall through the map when heading to Azuz during Main Mission: Chapter 2-1 “Toward Fervent Fields.”
• The Monster Field Guide is now accessible.
• Resolved an issue in Main Mission: Chapter 5-2 “A World Turned Upside Down” where an NPC may not appear, preventing further progression.
• At the Smithy, fixed an issue where tutorials were repeatedly shown, disabling certain menu options.
• Corrected a problem with the lance's Power Guard where the weapon would flash red but the effect wouldn't activate under certain conditions.
• Fixed an issue where using a mantle could mistakenly activate a Weapon Equipment Skill.
• Resolved continuous display of certain skill effects, such as Peak Performance and Self-Improvement.
• Fixed a freeze issue when performing an Offset Attack with the Insect Glaive’s Descending Slash under specific conditions.
• Addressed issues with screen rendering and force quits under certain conditions.
• The Meal Invitation feature at Azuz and Sild now unlocks properly.
• Fixed a notification issue where an Environment Overview Update might incorrectly show a Meal Invitation as available. (Some mitigation measures have been implemented.)

• Fixed a display issue where only the first 20 quests were shown correctly when scrolling through the quest list.
• Resolved an issue causing the game to forcefully shut down when starting with saved data that encountered a force quit.

• A network error occurs when firing an SOS flare right after a quest begins.
• Link Members are not prioritized over other players and may not appear in some places including Base Camps.
• Palico’s attacks with blunt weapons do not inflict stun and exhaust damages.
• Hunter Profile cannot be edited properly on some occasions.
• Some side missions cannot be completed under certain situations.
