"Medabots Survivor: Classic RPG Meets Bullet Heaven Genre"

May 05,25

If you've been keeping an eye on the latest global game releases, there's another one you might wish was available in your region. Medabot Survivors is set to launch on February 10th, bringing the beloved robot role-playing franchise back to mobile devices. Unfortunately, it's currently exclusive to Japan.

As reported by Gematsu, Medabots might ring a bell for those of us who grew up during the massive wave of Japanese entertainment that followed Pokémon's success. While franchises like Digimon gained significant popularity and even rivaled Pokémon in some circles, Medabots never quite achieved the same level of fame in the West. However, in Japan, Medabots has been a major player in the entertainment industry, consistently popular and influential.

It's no surprise, then, that Medabots is venturing into the Survivors-like genre, a genre that has been around long before the popular game Vampire Survivors. This move is not only exciting for fans but also indicative of the genre's growing global appeal. While Medabot Survivors is currently exclusive to Japan, its success could pave the way for a wider release.

Having explored the gaming landscape in Japan, I can confirm there are numerous excellent releases that may never make it to other regions. Here's hoping that if Medabot Survivors proves to be a hit, it might eventually find its way to fans worldwide.

In the meantime, if you're interested in upcoming games that you can play right now, check out our latest feature in Ahead of the Game, where Catherine Dellosa dives into the delightful world of Cat Restaurant.
