*League of Legends* has unveiled a new and exciting minigame within its client, available until the end of April. If you're familiar with *Balatro*, you'll quickly grasp the mechanics of the Demon’s Hand card game in *League of Legends*.

League of Legends Demon’s Hand Set-Up and Getting Started

To dive into Demon’s Hand, ensure your *League* client is updated to the latest version. Once updated, navigate to the game type menu by clicking the Play button and select Demon’s Hand. This action will introduce you to the game's storyline and launch you into your first round of the card game.

Your hand of cards appears on the bottom row of your screen. In the bottom right corner, you'll find your health, coins, and critical hit chance percentage. Above this, the Sigil box can hold up to six active Sigils, though you begin with none. Unlike other games, your health isn't replenished after each battle; instead, seek out tent locations on the map to restore a portion of your health.

The enemy is represented by the card at the top of the screen, with its health displayed in the bottom right and its damage in the bottom left of the card. To the left of the enemy card, an attack coin indicates the number of hands you can play before the enemy strikes back. On the left edge of the screen, a book icon lists all the hands you can play as attacks, along with their base damage in a standard round.

How To Play Demon’s Hand in League of Legends

To inflict damage, you'll need to play poker hands, which in Demon’s Hand are renamed but follow the same principles. The pinnacle of hands is The Demon’s Hand, equivalent to a royal flush. Below is a list of the hands you can play and their poker equivalents:

  • Solo = High Card (10 Base Damage)
  • Dyad = Pair (20 Base Damage)
  • Dyad Set = Two Pair (40 Base Damage)
  • Triad = Three of a Kind (80 Base Damage)
  • Tetrad = Four of a Kind (100 Base Damage)
  • March = Straight (125 Base Damage)
  • Horde = Flush (175 Base Damage)
  • Grand Warhost = Full House (400 Base Damage)
  • Marching Horde = Straight Flush (600 Base Damage)
  • The Demon’s Hand = Royal Flush (2000 Base Damage)

In addition to the base damage, the numerical value of each card contributes to the total damage dealt. If an enemy has a special ability that nullifies a specific suit, cards of that suit will appear crossed out; you can still play them, but their value won't add to the base damage.

Spice Up Your Attacks with Sigils

Sigils add another layer of strategy to Demon’s Hand. You can acquire them during store phases, indicated by coins on the map. Each victory over an enemy earns you coins, which you can then use to buy Sigils. Each Sigil possesses a unique ability, visible when you hover over them in the store or during a round. Some Sigils enhance specific hands, like amplifying the damage of Dyads, while others might grant you additional turns before the enemy attacks or reduce the damage you receive.

That's everything you need to know about playing the Demon’s Hand card game in *League of Legends*. If this minigame isn't your cup of tea, be sure to check out the upcoming April Fools skins for some fun in Summoner’s Rift.
