The last major Baldur's Gate III patch entered the stress test stage

Baldur's Gate III's eighth and potentially final major patch is now undergoing stress testing. While some Sony console players received early access, players opting out are advised to reinstall the game.

Patch 8's headline feature is cross-platform play, uniting PC and console players. Friends across different platforms can join together, provided they have linked Larian accounts. Remarkably, modded gameplay is also supported in crossplay, subject to two conditions: all mods used by the PC player must be available on Mac and consoles, and the host's lobby cannot have more than nine mods installed.

A highly anticipated addition is split-screen co-op on Xbox Series S, previously unavailable due to the console's limitations.

Further enhancements in Patch 8 include a highly customizable photo mode and twelve new subclasses, adding significant depth and variety. Bug fixes and balance adjustments are also included, although some issues may persist. A complete changelog for the stress test is available on the game's official website.
