Street Fighter 6 welcomes a new fighter, reigniting player interest. The popular Capcom fighting game, boasting 4.4 million copies sold by December 31st, 2024, has added Mai Shiranui from the Fatal Fury franchise.

This addition, the third character in the game's second season, has significantly boosted Street Fighter 6's popularity. Steam's peak concurrent player count surged past 63,000 on Mai's release day, a substantial increase from the previous 24-27,000 peak and the best result since May 2024.

Access to Mai is granted through the Battle Pass. World Tour mode allows players to cultivate a relationship with Mai, learn her moves, and subsequently test them in Battle Hub. A second costume, inspired by her appearance in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, is also available.

A temporary addition to Battle Hub is Professor Woshige, a renowned fighting game developer. Players can experience his unique style until March 10th. Further updates include new Master League ranks and rewards.

Capcom showcased Mai's fighting prowess in a dedicated trailer.
