LEGO Unveils Jango Fett's Starship, New Star Wars Sets for May the Fourth

May 01,25

LEGO has unveiled an exciting lineup of nine new Star Wars sets, all set to hit the shelves on May 1, 2025, in celebration of Star Wars Day on May the 4th. As part of Disney's extensive festivities, LEGO traditionally introduces a new Ultimate Collector Series Starship. Following the releases of Luke's X-Wing Starfighter in 2023 and the TIE Interceptor in 2024, this year's highlight is Jango Fett's Firespray Starship, famously known among fans as Slave I. The name was changed to Firespray Starship in 2021 at Disney's behest, a decision confirmed by LEGO, likely to avoid any negative connotations associated with the term 'slave'. It appears this change is permanent.

This latest rendition of Jango Fett's Starship brings a significant upgrade from the 2019 version, which celebrated the 20th anniversary of the ship seen in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back with 1007 pieces. The new LEGO set, with an impressive 2970 pieces, reflects the ship's appearance in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones. This version is nearly three times larger than its predecessor, measuring 7.5 inches high, 17.5 inches long, and 15.5 inches wide.
