My childhood fascination with dinosaurs began during visits to the American Museum of Natural History, where the towering T-Rex skeleton always stood out. Later exposure to Ray Bradbury's "A Sound of Thunder" perfectly captured that sense of awe:

"The creature moved on powerful, piston-like legs. It stood thirty feet tall above the vegetation, folding its slender claws against its scaled chest. Each limb carried tremendous power - massive bones supported by thick muscle layers encased in armor-like skin."

Originally, scientists believed T-Rex stood upright with its tail dragging, as shown above. Modern paleontology reveals a completely different posture:

This photo shows "Sue," the most complete T-Rex specimen ever discovered (90% complete). Modern displays position dinosaurs horizontally, using their tails as counterbalances. Notice the rib cage detail - the small bones originally baffled scientists but are now known to support breathing.

The Jurassic Park T-Rex represents transitional knowledge - improved posture but outdated assumptions about body mass. Current evidence shows Tyrannosaurs carried significantly more weight (9-10 tons) with lower-hanging bodies.
