Legendary Dynamax Raids Leaked in Pokemon GO
Summary
- Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno may be appearing in Dynamax Raids from January 20 to February 3.
- The news was posted to the official Saudi Arabia Pokemon GO Twitter page but was quickly deleted.
Pokemon GO enthusiasts might have a thrilling surprise on the horizon, as the game may soon introduce Dynamax Raids featuring the iconic Kanto legendary birds: Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno. This exciting news was inadvertently shared via a now-deleted post on the official Pokemon GO Saudi Arabia Twitter account. If confirmed, this would mark the first time legendary Pokemon appear in Dynamax form within the game, adding a fresh twist to the already popular Max Battles.
Dynamax Pokemon were initially introduced to Pokemon GO in September 2024, and the addition of these legendary birds could reignite player interest in Max Raids. The trio of Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno have long been cherished by the Pokemon community. They were first added to standard raids in the game's early years, along with their Shiny variants. The game further expanded its legendary bird offerings in 2023 by including the Galarian versions in Daily Incense spawns, with their Shiny forms becoming available since October 2024.
The potential arrival of Dynamax versions of these Kanto legends was spotted by Reddit user nintendo101 in a tweet from the Pokemon GO Saudi Arabia account, which announced their appearance in Dynamax Raids from January 20 to February 3. Although the tweet was quickly removed, it hints at an upcoming feature that could significantly boost the appeal of Max Battles, which some players have been less enthusiastic about.
The inclusion of the Dynamax bird trio could pave the way for other legendary Pokemon to receive similar treatments in future updates. Pokemon Sword and Shield featured Dynamax forms of Mewtwo, Ho-Oh, and more, suggesting a broad potential for Pokemon GO. However, questions remain about the difficulty level of these legendary Max Raids, especially after community feedback in October criticized the current Max Raid challenges that require large groups of players.
As Pokemon GO kicks off 2025, Niantic has lined up a series of exciting events. The next Community Day Classic on January 25 will spotlight Ralts, and a Shadow Raid Day on January 19 will feature Shadow Ho-Oh, with up to seven free Raid Passes available from Gyms. Additionally, the host cities for Pokemon GO Fest 2025 have been announced as Osaka, Jersey City, and Paris, promising a year filled with engaging community events and new gameplay experiences.
