Leaked Battlefield Content Excites Fans; EA Yet to Respond

Despite efforts to keep details under wraps by requiring players to sign NDAs, EA's upcoming untitled Battlefield game has still managed to leak online. The leaks, consisting of numerous videos and screenshots, reveal what participants in the game's closed playtesting have experienced.

As previously reported when these leaks first appeared, the footage corroborates the modern setting that Vince Zampella had hinted at earlier, setting this game apart from its predecessors. A brief look at the Battlefield subreddit reveals a variety of firefights, showcasing the game's destructible environments and introducing new mechanics such as the ability to hang off vehicles and drag wounded teammates to safety.

Surprisingly, EA has taken a notably relaxed approach to these leaks, despite them breaching confidentiality agreements. Typically, game publishers are quick to remove leaked pre-release content due to concerns over incomplete features like animations, UI, and graphics. However, EA has not pursued takedowns for this content.

This leniency might be influenced by the positive reception the leaks have received, unlike the lukewarm response to Battlefield 2042. Fans have expressed their excitement and optimism about the game's development.

One player commented, "I am scared to say that but this game is shaping up very damn well. I hope there are no catches…" Another added, "The animations of the weapons moving around while running / doing anything look better than 2042 to me."

Enthusiasm was also evident in another player's statement: "Dude, even in a pre-alpha state, the explosions, bullets, and projectiles whizzing by, buildings crumbling down, dust kicking up. This has so much potential!"

Another user expressed their admiration for the game's sound and destruction effects, saying, "I can't get over how good the sounds and the destruction look at alpha."

EA anticipates launching its next Battlefield game during the fiscal year 2026, which spans from April 2025 to March 2026. The game's first official reveal last month confirmed the inclusion of a traditional, single-player, linear campaign, a feature that was missed in the multiplayer-focused Battlefield 2042.
