Leak: Ubisoft is developing Rainbow Six Siege 2 with improved graphics

Apr 01,25

According to an insider known as fraxiswinning, Ubisoft is set to unveil Rainbow Six Siege 2 at the Six Invitational 2025, scheduled at the MGM Music Hall from February 14–16. The project, reportedly codenamed Siege X, is said to operate on an enhanced engine featuring upgraded graphics, including revamped textures and models.

It's rumored that Ubisoft might not bring back the temporary events from the original game, opting instead for fresh events. The anticipated release date for Rainbow Six Siege 2 is during the second season of the tenth year of support, around mid-2025.

Previously, Alexander Karpazis, the creative director of Rainbow Six Siege, mentioned that a sequel wasn't necessary due to the ongoing development of the current game. However, if these leaks hold true, it appears Ubisoft may have reconsidered their stance.

As with all rumors, it's important to approach this information with caution. Without an official statement from Ubisoft, everything remains speculative.

The Rainbow Six Siege World Championship, Six Invitational 2025, is fast approaching. In Boston, twenty teams will vie for a portion of the $3,000,000 prize pool and the championship title. Oxygen Esports, having won the North American Last Chance Qualifier, is the last team to secure a spot.

A tournament with twenty teams is unusual. While Ubisoft is likely to maintain the format from the previous year—four groups with a round-robin among five teams, followed by Double Elimination playoffs—there could be surprises in store.

The first-place team in each group gets a bye in the first round, the fourth-place team starts in the lower bracket, the rest enter the playoffs in the upper bracket, and the last team in each group is eliminated.
