Larian Studios has announced a major 2025 update for Baldur's Gate 3, surprising fans who expected Patch 7 to be the final significant release. Alongside crossplay and a photo mode, the update introduces 12 new subclasses, each offering distinct gameplay mechanics. Details on four subclasses were previously revealed, and now the remaining ones are unveiled:

Oath of the Crown Paladin; Arcane Archer; Drunken Master Monk; Swarmkeeper Ranger.

The Oath of the Crown Paladin champions justice and societal welfare. This subclass uses the Divine Devotion ability to absorb damage meant for allies while restoring their health. The Arcane Archer blends martial skill with arcane power. Their enchanted arrows can blind, weaken, or banish foes to the Feywild until the next turn. If an arrow misses, the Arcane Archer can redirect its path to hit another target. The Drunken Master Monk weaves alcohol into their combat style. A unique ability intoxicates enemies, disorienting them while enhancing the monk’s own skills. Using Instant Sobriety on an affected target inflicts both physical and mental damage. The Swarmkeeper Ranger commands nature’s creatures, forming swarms that shield them and enable teleportation. In battle, they can unleash three swarm types: electric jellyfish clusters, blinding moth clouds, and stinging bee legions that push enemies back 4.5 meters if they fail a strength check.
