Dead Sails Kraken Boss Guide

Your journey begins in the heart of town, across from the Gun Store and Hospital and in front of the Trading Hut. Start by clearing out any excess loot and arming yourself. In my opinion, a Rifle is an excellent choice here. Priced at only $75, it offers sufficient firepower to fend off most enemies, at least temporarily. Don't forget to stock up on coal to fuel the boat, as it relies on an old-school engine.

The next town is 10,000 meters away. Simply start the boat and you're on your way. While you can stop to eliminate and loot Zombies and Drowned, I wouldn't recommend it due to the sparse valuables in the surrounding houses. To restart the ship, just add more coal. Ignore the worm wiggling on the right side and wait until the second safe zone to sell your loot. Be cautious of Big Foot and Zombie mobs along the riverbanks.

After reaching the second safe zone/town, you'll encounter burning buildings teeming with mobs. It's best to clear these with friends; otherwise, it's a waste of time due to erratic spawn points. At approximately 12,000 meters, you'll find a castle-like house filled with Drowned, along with valuable loot like Shotgun ammo. Use it wisely.

Dead Sails Kraken Tips And Tricks

By now, you're familiar with the core gameplay loop—kill, loot, repeat, and hope your enemies fall. To excel, focus on efficiency by using the boat as your primary inventory. Clear your bag upon returning to the boat to save time and space.

A key strategy I found helpful was stacking Zombies near the incinerator. While it's tempting to rush out of those backwater towns, efficient loot stacking can significantly boost your progress. If you're short on fuel, simply toss a few Zombies into the incinerator.

Another useful tip is to be cautious in Sheriff's offices. These areas often contain a higher concentration of mobs, but also offer rewarding weapons and ammo. I sustained my shotgun for extended periods by having a friend clear the ground floor while we explored each town.

Conserve your ammo, weapons, fuel, and medkits for the fortress around 25,000 meters. Still under construction, it's a hotspot for ambushes. I recommend entering with at least three others, ideally a group of five. Be efficient when collecting loot.

Avoid engaging Big Feet after 30,000 meters. They're extremely powerful, require a lot of ammo, and hit like a ton of bricks. Don't linger unnecessarily; plan your stops wisely. Remember, loot isn't everything.

The town after 50,000 meters is one of my favorite farming spots. With at least two dozen Drowned and Zombies, it's perfect for those equipped with Shotguns or a Sawnoff. It's also an efficient way to gather corpses for fuel, so coordinate with your team to prepare bodies for loading quickly.

In the final safe zone, sell all your loot and stock up on ammo, weapons, and medkits. Don't underestimate the Zombies and Drowned—ensure you have a stash of at least 8-10 corpses for fuel during the final stretch. At around 100,000 meters, you'll reach open waters and be ready to face the beast. The impending battle is signaled by darkening skies.

As the camera zooms out and the Kraken emerges, everyone must choose a tentacle to attack. The boss has substantial health, and each tentacle can cause damage if not countered effectively. If you have five players, form a pentagram-like shape and each tackle a tentacle independently.

Be mindful of the water splash ability, which causes area-of-effect damage. It's telegraphed by the Kraken pulling back a tentacle and creating a water trail. Use medkits liberally, as some damage is unavoidable.

Lastly, watch out for the Roar AoE, which deals minor but unblockable damage and may slightly buff the boss's damage. You'll see it by the white concentric circles emanating from the tentacle.

As you can see, the challenge is less daunting than it appears. That concludes my Dead Sails Kraken Guide. To speed through the boss fight even faster, use one of our Dead Sails codes to see how far and fast you can go. Good luck, and may your sails be ever smooth!
