在最近Twitch的一次展示活动中，Warhorse Studios的公关主管Tobias Stolz-Zwilling澄清了玩家的担忧，确认KCD 2不会使用Denuvo DRM，并回应了开发者持续收到的关于该工具的混乱和“错误信息”。
Tobias表示：“确切的情况是，KCD 2不会包含Denuvo，它根本不会有任何DRM系统。我们从未确认过这一点。当然，之前有一些讨论。也存在一些偏差和误解，但最终，根本不会有任何Denuvo。”
他还请求玩家停止向开发者发送关于游戏使用DRM的垃圾信息。“就此，我希望你们就此打住。停止在我们发布的每条帖子下询问‘游戏里有没有Denuvo？’”他补充说，“只要Warhorse没有宣布任何消息”，关于KCD 2的任何传闻都是“不真实的”。
DRM经常与游戏性能问题联系在一起，因此玩家对其在游戏中的集成感到担忧。特别是Denuvo的使用，它也作为一种反盗版软件来保护游戏代码，并不总是让玩家满意，尤其是在PC玩家中，因为有人声称该DRM工具在某种程度上会使游戏无法运行。
Denuvo的产品经理Andreas Ullmann也回应了该工具收到的批评。在一次采访中，Ullmann表示，游戏社区对Denuvo的负面看法源于错误信息和确认偏差，并补充说，对其使用的强烈反对非常有害。
《王国之泪2》将于2025年2月在PC、PS5和Xbox Series X|S平台上发布。游戏背景设定在中世纪波希米亚，围绕着一名铁匠学徒亨利展开，他目睹了自己的村庄遭受了毁灭性的命运。在KCD 2的Kickstarter众筹活动中，至少捐赠200美元的玩家将获得游戏的免费副本。
