Embracer has celebrated the remarkable success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, announcing that the game is nearing the 2 million sales mark. Just one day after its launch, the sequel to Warhorse Studios' medieval Europe action role-playing game sold 1 million copies. Within 10 days, it nearly doubled that figure, showcasing an impressive sales trajectory. The game, which debuted on February 4 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S, has performed exceptionally well on Steam, achieving over 250,000 peak concurrent players. For comparison, the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance reached a peak of 96,069 concurrent players on Steam seven years prior.

It's important to note that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's peak concurrent player count across all platforms is likely even higher, though specific console numbers are not disclosed by Sony or Microsoft.

Embracer, which owns Warhorse Studios through its subsidiary Plaion, highlighted the game's success in terms of player engagement, critical acclaim, and financial performance. Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors praised the dedication of Warhorse Studios and publisher Deep Silver, stating, “This reflects the dedication and hard work of our development studio, Warhorse Studios, and our publisher, Deep Silver.”

Wingefors expressed confidence in the game's future, saying, “It is our strong belief that the game will continue to generate substantial revenues over the coming years, highlighting the exceptional quality, immersion and appeal of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Warhorse Studios has a robust roadmap, including updates and new content over the next 12 months, ensuring an engaging and continuously evolving experience for the community.” He further added, “We are immensely proud of the teams involved in the successful release of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, which has significantly outperformed our expectations so far.”

In addition to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Embracer is gearing up for the release of Killing Floor 3 later this quarter, between January and March 2025. The company employs over 5,000 game developers who are working on a slate of upcoming titles. Over the next three financial years (FY 2025/26, FY 2026/27, and FY 2027/28), Embracer plans to release 10 triple-A games, eight from internal studios and two from external ones.

In FY 2025/26, Embracer has scheduled two triple-A game releases towards the end of the financial year. The lineup also includes several mid-size releases such as Gothic 1 Remake, REANIMAL, Fellowship, Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core, Titan Quest II, Screamer, Echoes of the End (working title), Tides of Tomorrow, Satisfactory (console version), and the full release of Wreckfest 2, alongside other yet-to-be-announced mid-sized games.

Despite facing challenges in recent years, including layoffs and the sale of studios such as Gearbox and Saber Interactive, Embracer continues to own Metro developer 4A Games, which is currently developing a new game in the series.
