Kingambit Joins Pokémon Go in Crown Clash Event Next Month
As the excitement from the Sweet Discoveries event still lingers, Pokémon GO is already rolling out the red carpet for its next spectacular showdown—Crown Clash. Taking place from May 10th to 18th, this regal event brings with it the debut of a brand-new evolution, exciting costumed Pokémon, and a bounty of shiny opportunities, all while boosting your XP gains through evolution.
Kingambit Makes Its Royal Entrance
The spotlight of Crown Clash shines brightly on Kingambit, the Big Blade Pokémon. To evolve it, you’ll first need to obtain a Bisharp and set it as your Buddy. The real challenge? You must defeat 15 Dark- or Steel-type Pokémon in Raid Battles while Bisharp rides along as your companion. Once that’s done, you’re ready to evolve and welcome Kingambit into your collection!
Costumed Royalty Joins the Fray
Adding even more flair to the event are newly costumed variants of Nidoqueen and Nidoking, both adorned with festive crowns. If Lady Luck is on your side, you might even encounter their elusive Shiny forms. These crowned contenders will also appear in three-star raids, making them a top target for serious Trainers.
Event Raid Lineup
During Crown Clash, keep an eye out for these raid bosses:
- 3-Star Raids: Nidoqueen, Nidoking
- 1-Star Raids: Sneasel, Klink, Pawniard
Wild Encounters & Special Spawns
Outside of raids, players can expect increased spawns of several Pokémon, including Slowpoke (which may hold a King’s Rock), Slakoth, Piplup, Combee, Snivy, and Litleo. Keep tossing those Poké Balls—you never know what crown-worthy catch awaits!
Boosts, Challenges & Rewards
This event doubles the fun with double XP for evolving Pokémon, making it the perfect time to tackle that evolution backlog. Take on special Field Research tasks and complete a catch-and-evolve Collection Challenge to earn bonus XP, Stardust, and extra chances to catch Pawniard. Trainers at Level 31 and above will even receive guaranteed Candy XL upon completing the challenge.
Showcase Your Royal Catches
PokéStops will feature event-themed Showcase displays where you can show off your prized Nidoqueen, Nidoking, and other event-exclusive catches. It's a great way to flaunt your royal haul to fellow Trainers in your area.
Shop Smart for Crown Clash
Don’t forget to stop by the Pokémon GO Web Store, where you'll find exclusive deals and event-ready bundles to help you make the most of Crown Clash. Stock up on Ultra Balls, Raid Passes, and more before they vanish after the event.
