Kevin Conroy's Final Role Revealed in New Devil May Cry Anime Trailer by Netflix
The demon hunting is about to get real with Netflix's new anime adaptation of the iconic video game series, Devil May Cry. The streaming giant just released a thrilling trailer, giving fans a glimpse of the action-packed series. Adding to the excitement, the legendary late voice actor Kevin Conroy will posthumously lend his voice to the show, marking another opportunity for fans to experience his remarkable talent.
Kevin Conroy, renowned for his iconic portrayal of Bruce Wayne and Batman in numerous animated projects, will voice a new character named VP Baines. His voice can be heard in the teaser's opening, setting the stage for an intense narrative. Conroy's last notable posthumous performance was in July 2024's Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 3, and his inclusion in Devil May Cry is a testament to his enduring legacy following his passing in November 2022 at age 66.
Joining Conroy in the cast are Scout Taylor-Compton as Mary, Hoon Lee as White Rabbit, Chris Coppola as Enzo, and Johnny Yong Bosch, who brings to life the series' protagonist, Dante. According to Netflix's official synopsis, "Sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck."

The series is under the creative guidance of producer Adi Shankar, who will serve as the showrunner. Shankar is known for his executive producer roles in films like the 2012 Judge Dredd reboot, Dredd, the Brad Pitt starrer Killing Them Softly from the same year, and the 2014 Ryan Reynolds film The Voices. He's also attached to an upcoming Assassin's Creed adaptation, though its release remains uncertain since its announcement in 2017.
Studio Mir, the acclaimed South Korean studio behind The Legend of Korra and X-Men ‘97, will handle the production. Devil May Cry is set to premiere on Netflix on April 3, 2025, promising an enthralling journey into the realms of demons and hunters.
