Rome's newest attraction: GAMM, the Game Museum! Now open to the public in Piazza della Repubblica, this expansive museum is the creation of Marco Accordi Rickards, a writer, journalist, professor, and CEO of Vigamus.

Rickards, a passionate advocate for video game preservation, describes GAMM as a captivating journey blending history, technology, and interactive gameplay. Building on the success of Vigamus, another Roman gaming museum that has drawn over two million visitors since 2012, GAMM boasts 700 square meters across two floors, divided into three distinct thematic zones.

A sneak peek awaits!

Explore GAMM's Three Thematic Areas:

First, the GAMMDOME: an immersive digital playground featuring interactive stations alongside authentic gaming artifacts, including consoles and donated items. The experience is built around the 4E concept: Experience, Exhibition, Education, and Entertainment.

Next, the Path of Arcadia (PARC) transports visitors to the golden age of arcade games. Relive the classics from the late 70s and 80s, with a touch of early 90s nostalgia.

Finally, the Historical Playground (HIP) delves into the mechanics of game design. This area offers a behind-the-scenes look at game structure, interaction, and design principles.

Visiting GAMM:

Open Monday to Thursday, 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM; Fridays and Saturdays until 11:30 PM. Tickets cost 15 euros. For more information, visit the official GAMM website.
