The iPhone 16e replaces the iPhone SE (last updated in 2022), offering a closer size and spec comparison to the standard iPhone 16 than its predecessor. While priced higher than the SE ($429), at $599 it's significantly cheaper than the standard iPhone 16 ($799) and even undercuts the iPhone 15 ($699).

iPhone 16e Specs

The iPhone 16e boasts a 6.1-inch OLED display with a notch (instead of the iPhone 16's Dynamic Island). It features the same A18 chip as the standard iPhone 16, but with a 4-core GPU (compared to the 16's 5-core GPU). While potentially slightly less powerful, it still supports Apple Intelligence for all the latest iOS 18 AI features. The new C1 cellular modem promises improved power efficiency and extended battery life—Apple claims up to 26 hours of video playback (versus 22 hours on the standard iPhone 16).

However, it lacks MagSafe integration, meaning no magnetic charging. While Qi wireless charging is supported, the magnetic convenience is absent. Color options are limited to black and white, unlike the more vibrant standard iPhone 16. Despite these limitations, the iPhone 16e offers a compelling budget-friendly option.
