There Will Be "Sort Of" A Sex Feature

As inZOI gears up for its early access release, fans are curious about the inclusion of certain features, particularly those related to sex and nudity. During a live segment called "Ask Me (almost) Anything" on inZOI's official Discord channel, three team leads, including Assistant Director Joel Lee, addressed these queries.

The session covered various topics about the game's realism, such as baby care, body sizes, and driving mechanics. However, the spotlight was on the game's approach to explicit content. Lee provided a safe-for-work response, stating, "Our answer is: sort of. There is a feature in the game where you can clearly understand what's happening—the male Zoi and the female Zoi are together, likely in bed, with the intention of creating babies. The visual aspect requires some imagination. What you see isn't exactly what's happening; you have to infer that's what's going on. Is that clear enough? It's there. Sort of. Maybe not as explicit as some might expect."

This statement hints at the inclusion of a sex feature, albeit in a more subtle and less visually explicit manner than what some fans might anticipate. Given inZOI's focus on realism, the approach to these features is expected to be more grounded compared to the playful style seen in The Sims.

Blurring Effects Don’t Work Well With inZOI

Curious fans also asked why Zois shower with their towels on. The developers explained that pixelated blurring effects, commonly used in more cartoonish games like The Sims, do not mesh well with inZOI's more realistic art style. These effects ended up appearing more suggestive than intended. Moreover, during testing, a bug allowed players to see Zois without visual effects in the mirror, inadvertently showing them fully naked. The developers have since addressed this issue.

Making inZOI Available to All

Despite the focus on explicit content, inZOI has been rated T for Teen by the ESRB, akin to The Sims 4. This rating ensures the game remains accessible to a broad audience while maintaining a safe-for-work environment. Lee emphasized the team's goal to create a game that appeals to various age groups, saying, "We wanted to provide a game that was widely available to as many age groups as possible."
