Iconic Bethesda Voice Actor of Skyrim, Fallout 3, and More Shares Heartfelt Message Amid Recovery
Beloved Bethesda voice actor Wes Johnson, known for his roles in Skyrim, Fallout 3, Starfield, and numerous other titles, has shared a moving message following a near-fatal incident. Last week, he was found "barely alive" in his Atlanta hotel room.
A video posted on his GoFundMe page, which has already raised an astounding $174,653 for medical expenses, reveals Johnson was in a coma. He expressed profound gratitude for the outpouring of support: "I found out there's a lot of love in this world that I didn't know was out there, and I'm grateful to each and every one of you."
Johnson, also a Washington Capitals announcer, was in Atlanta for a National Alzheimer's Foundation benefit event. His absence raised concerns, leading his wife, Kim, to contact the hotel. Security personnel and EMTs found him with a barely perceptible pulse.
"Rumors of my demise were not exaggerated," Johnson shared in the video. "It was very close. But I'm still here because my wife called the hotel, my son contacted security, and they discovered I was near death."
He detailed his five-day coma and thanked his friends Bill Glasser and Shari Elliker, and his wife Kim, for establishing the GoFundMe. He also expressed gratitude to the National Alzheimer's Association for supporting his family, Ted Leonsis (Washington Capitals parent company chairman) for a significant donation, and Bethesda for their public show of support. "You say I'm your friend. I am, and always will be. Love you guys," he stated, extending his appreciation to fans for their donations and well wishes. "I love you all. I'm not going anywhere," he affirmed.
"Recovery will take time, but I'm coming back," Johnson concluded. "I look forward to seeing and hearing you all again. Cheers."
Johnson's extensive voice acting credits span film, television, and video games, with a significant portion dedicated to Bethesda titles. His recent roles include Ron Hope in Starfield, along with memorable performances as Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance in Oblivion, multiple Daedric Princes in Morrowind, Fawkes and Maister Burke in Fallout 3, Hermaeus Mora and Emperor Titus Mede II in Skyrim, and Moe Cronin in Fallout 4, among many others.
