Apr 28,25

Hearthstone enthusiasts are in for a treat with the upcoming Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set, slated for release on January 21. This Mini-Set is set to be the largest in Hearthstone's history, boasting an impressive collection of 49 new cards. Revealed during the Warcraft Direct on November 13, 2024, this expansion marks a thrilling crossover between Hearthstone and Blizzard’s iconic StarCraft franchise, bringing fresh excitement to fans of both games.

The Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set will introduce a diverse range of cards, including class-specific cards, multi-class StarCraft faction cards, and a unique neutral Legendary card named Grunty. Each of the nine Hearthstone classes will receive three new cards, while the three StarCraft factions—Zerg, Protoss, and Terran—will each contribute five cards, one of which will be a Legendary. The Zerg cards, available to Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, and Warlock, will emphasize summoning numerous Zerglings and leveraging Hydralisks for impactful swarm-based damage. Meanwhile, the Protoss cards, accessible to Druid, Mage, Priest, and Rogue, will focus on mana manipulation to summon powerful units like the Carrier. Finally, the Terran cards for Paladin, Shaman, and Warrior will enhance the Starship mechanic from The Great Dark Beyond set, introducing new Starship Pieces and special Mech-type Starships.

Despite its expanded size, the Mini-Set comes with a higher price tag. Players can acquire a complete playset for $20 or 2500 gold, or opt for the all-Golden version at $80 or 12,000 gold. For those interested in specific factions, individual packs of Protoss, Terran, or Zerg cards are available for $10 or 1200 gold. While the cards are also obtainable through The Great Dark Beyond packs, these direct purchase options offer a more targeted approach to building your collection.

To celebrate the launch, Hearthstone has planned two exciting streamed events. StarCast, airing on January 23 at 10 AM PST, will showcase StarCraft legends TrumpSC and Day9 as they delve into the new cards. Following this, HearthCraft on January 24 at 9 AM PST will feature Hearthstone community creators competing in faction-based matches and mini-games. Viewers tuning into these events on Twitch will have the chance to earn two normal and two Golden The Great Dark Beyond packs, adding even more value to the experience.
