Alkimia Interactive, the creative minds behind the much-anticipated Gothic 1 Remake, have provided early access to a brand-new demo to journalists from various media outlets. Originally crafted for Gamescom, this demo will soon be available to the public. This exciting development offers fans a sneak peek into what the full game will offer.

The demo introduces players to a new protagonist, Niras, who takes the place of the classic Nameless Hero. Niras, another prisoner, arrives in the Miners' Valley and begins to engage with its inhabitants, laying the groundwork for the expansive narrative that awaits in the complete game.

In 2024, at Gamescom, Alkimia Interactive showcased an exclusive prologue demo centered around Niras' arrival in the Colony. This demo highlighted his introduction to the harsh environment and the diverse residents of the Colony. Soon, players worldwide will have the opportunity to explore this updated world of Gothic for themselves. Both the demo and the final game have been reconstructed almost entirely from scratch, promising extended playtime, a deeper focus on orcs, and additional immersive elements. This comprehensive rebuild ensures that fans will enjoy a richer and more engaging experience than the original game provided.

The latest demo of Gothic 1 Remake will be launched on Steam during the Steam Next Fest event. It will be freely accessible from the evening of February 24th until the evening of March 3rd. After this period, the demo will no longer be available. The full release of Gothic 1 Remake is scheduled for later this year, and it will be available on PC (via Steam and GOG), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
