Freedom Wars Remastered: A Deep Dive into Weapon Types

Freedom Wars Remastered allows players to equip two weapons of their choice for each Operation. With six distinct weapon types available, players can customize their character to perfectly match their preferred playstyle. Each weapon type boasts unique characteristics, especially when charged. Three are melee weapons and three are ranged, all fully customizable. Let's explore each:

Weapon Types in Freedom Wars Remastered

New weapons are acquired through Operations or purchased from Zakka in The Warren. While Comrades' weapons are fixed, players can freely equip and change their Accessory's weapon at any time, with no penalties for frequent switching.

Weapon Type Traits
Light Melee Quick attacks ideal for fast-paced combat, targeting single enemies. Can sever Abductor limbs without a Flare Knife.
Heavy Melee Wide-sweeping attacks inflict significant damage. Well-timed attacks can hit multiple Abductor limbs for multiplied damage. Charged attacks launch you into the air. Slightly reduces movement speed.
Polearm Attacks involve charging through enemies, providing mobility and evasion. Charged attacks launch the polearm for substantial damage from a distance.
Assault Weapons High ammo capacity, perfect as a primary weapon for gun-focused builds. Can be fired while grappled with your Thorne for advantageous angles or safe distance.
Portable Artillery High single-shot damage but low ammo capacity. Explosive area-of-effect shots can hit multiple limbs for increased damage. Reduces movement speed.
Autocannons High rate of fire with large ammo capacity and magazine size. Individual shots have lower damage, compensated by the rapid firing rate. Reduces movement speed.

Unlike the player character, your Accessory's gun weapons have unlimited ammo.
