What to Expect from Vampire Hunters in Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2

A recent developer update from The Chinese Room sheds light on the vampire hunters in Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. This faction, the Information Awareness Bureau (IAB), operates in the shadows, lacking official government backing but funded through a clandestine budget. They hunt vampires, or "Hollow Ones," masking their activities as "training exercises" and "counter-terrorism operations."

Agent Baker, the IAB's Seattle leader, is a pragmatic and disciplined hunter dedicated to the permanent eradication of vampires. She meticulously investigates unusual events, poring over historical records to uncover links to the hidden vampire world. Her unwavering command has earned her the moniker "The Hen" amongst her loyal team.

The IAB hunters are highly coordinated, maintaining a strong internal and external security presence at their base. Confronting them alone is incredibly difficult; they operate in well-trained teams, utilize spotlights to disorient, and maintain constant communication via portable radios. In combat, they employ thermic batons that bypass defenses and phosphorous grenades to flush enemies from cover. Their sniper crossbows fire explosive bolts capable of inflicting devastating damage if not swiftly removed.

However, these hunters aren't invulnerable. Physically weaker than both ghouls and vampires, they possess exploitable weaknesses. For instance, fire-based abilities can intercept and redirect their grenades and bolts. Furthermore, the Ventrue clan's powers allow players to possess an enemy hunter, turning them against their own team.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is slated for release in the first half of 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
