ETE Chronicle:Re JP Server Pre-Registration Opens With A Very Different Game
The much-anticipated pre-registration for the JP server of ETE Chronicle:Re is now live! If you've been eager to dive into a game that allows you to soar through the skies, plunge into the ocean depths, and conquer the land alongside fierce female warriors, your wait is finally over.
Let's catch you up on the game's journey. ETE Chronicle initially launched in Japan but received a lukewarm reception due to its unexpected turn-based gameplay. Fans were expecting a high-octane mecha action experience, which led to some disappointment. In response, the developers revamped the game for its Chinese release, transforming it into a true action title.
This revamped version, dubbed ETE Chronicle:Re, is set to replace the original JP release, which will be discontinued. Players who invested in the old version will have their investments transferred to the new one.
The Storyline: A Future in Ruins
ETE Chronicle:Re plunges you into a future where chaos reigns, with humanity caught in an endless struggle. The Yggdrasil Corporation, after acquiring extraterrestrial remnants, developed the Galar, a tactical exoskeleton. With this new technology and a massive orbital base called Tenkyu, they turned Earth into a war-torn wasteland.
Survivors formed the Humanity Alliance, wielding a secret weapon: girls piloting the E.T.E., a new breed of combat machines. As an enforcer in this world, you'll join them in their fight. Your decisions will not only affect the battle but also the fate of these characters, making your role as an enforcer pivotal.
The battle mechanics of ETE Chronicle:Re are dynamic. With four characters at your command, you must think and act swiftly. The game's half-real-time system requires you to adapt strategies on the fly as you navigate through enemy fire.
Despite the excitement, some players remain skeptical about the reboot, given their less-than-stellar experience with the original version. They found the constant running and shooting loop monotonous, with enemies maintaining a fixed distance that made flanking impossible. The movement system, which controlled the entire party simultaneously without individual character control, led to repetitive and frustrating battles. Whether ETE Chronicle:Re will address these issues remains to be seen.
Pre-register for ETE Chronicle:Re before August 18th to claim some exciting rewards. Five lucky winners will receive a 2,000 yen Amazon gift certificate. You can pre-register on the official website or through the Google Play Store.
