NieR: Automata boasts a diverse arsenal, from quirky choices like the Iron Pipe to heavy hitters such as the Type-40 Blade. Many weapons are unique YoRHa designs, but one stands out for Square Enix fans: Noctis's Engine Blade from Final Fantasy XV. This guide details its location and key stats, obtainable during your first playthrough.

Where To Find The Engine Blade in NieR: Automata

The Engine Blade is located within the factory area, but not accessible during the game's opening sequence. You'll need to revisit as 2B. Chapter Select (Chapter 9) provides a quicker route. Begin at the Factory: Hanger access point.

Exiting the access point, take the right path (2D camera perspective). Pass a fenced area, ascend the broken stairs, and navigate the conveyor belt with crates. The next belt features deadly presses; carefully avoid them. Jump to the cylinder with two spider-like enemies.

Enter the door to your left, climbing more stairs while dodging exploding enemies. Midway, the railing ends, and the platform extends towards the camera. Shifting the camera angle reveals another 2D platforming section. Jump across the presses, following the path to the left.

The final room contains three chests. The Engine Blade is in the left chest; the right chest is locked. Beware of additional exploding enemies dropping from the ceiling as you approach.

Engine Blade Stats in NieR: Automata

  • Attack: 160-200
  • Combo: Light 5, Heavy 3

This weapon offers four upgrade levels, culminating in a 7-hit light combo (requires finding Masamune). Unlike the Iron Pipe, its damage range is tighter, providing more predictable damage output.
