Intriguingly, Nuytsia holds a similar spiritual significance in Australian Aboriginal culture, viewed as a "spirit tree" where each flowering branch represents a deceased soul, its vibrant hues echoing the sunset – the believed destination of spirits.
Further strengthening this comparison is Nuytsia's semi-parasitic nature; it draws sustenance from neighboring plants. This mirrors a prevalent fan theory suggesting the Erdtree is parasitic, having overtaken the life-giving roots of an ancient Great Tree. However, it's now understood that game item descriptions referencing a "Great Tree" are mistranslations, actually referring to the Erdtree's own vast root system.
