Elden Ring: Nightreign is a New Ranged Class

Ahead of its May release, Elden Ring: Nightreign has unveiled a new ranged class known as the Ironeye. Discover more about this sniper-focused class!
Nightreign Introduces Its Sixth Class: The Ironeye
A Lethal Long-Range Sniper
Elden Ring: Nightreign has introduced a new class, the Ironeye, prior to its launch in May. This highly capable sniper class brings a fresh take on ranged combat, emphasizing speed and agility. The gameplay trailer highlights the Ironeye wielding an oversized bow and arrow setup, along with the ability to scale walls for precise mid-air assaults. It also utilizes an enhanced aiming system designed to improve headshot accuracy. In the trailer, the character even executes a riposte maneuver against an enemy—firing an arrow directly into their heart.
During February's closed network test for Nightreign, players had the opportunity to try four of the eight available classes: the versatile Wylder, the durable Guardian, the agile Duchess, and the spellcasting Recluse. The Ironeye marks the sixth class to be revealed. With Nightreign arriving next month, it's likely that FromSoftware will announce the final two classes before the end of the month.

The inclusion of gameplay refinements, such as the new aiming system, has led some fans to hope that these enhancements will also be incorporated into the original Elden Ring. Such updates could make bows a more appealing weapon choice than they were previously.
On platforms like Reddit, many players have noted that bows were seldom favored as a primary weapon in the original game, largely due to the dominance of melee combat. However, the introduction of the revamped Ironeye class—showcasing the potential power of archery—may encourage more players to experiment with ranged builds in Nightreign.
Elden Ring: Nightreign, a standalone expansion, is scheduled for release on May 30, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, priced at $39.99. For additional details, refer to the related article on Game8 below!
