Elden Ring DLC: Unveiling NPCs' Intriguing Unarmored Forms
Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree DLC features some truly frightening enemies. A dataminer has recently unveiled the character models beneath their armor, revealing a surprising level of detail and design. While some models are relatively simple, others display fascinating characteristics that deepen the game's lore.
Like its predecessors in the Soulsborne series, Elden Ring's intricate lore is a major draw, often requiring players to piece together the story from in-game clues and datamined information. Following the earlier reveal of the Divine Beast Dancing Lion boss's hidden model, a new video by YouTuber and dataminer Zullie the Witch exposes the underlying designs of several other NPCs.
The video showcases these Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree NPCs without their armor, highlighting FromSoftware's dedication to character creation, even for features unseen in-game. Fans have reacted positively to the revealed appearances, with many praising the detail and accuracy. The model for Moore, for example, has been described as perfectly aligning with player expectations.
Detailed NPC Models Impress Elden Ring Fans
Redmane Freyja's model displays scarring consistent with Scarlet Rot, a detail that perfectly complements her in-game story. This level of attention to detail is impressive, given the character's armor obscures these features during gameplay. Additionally, the model for Tanith (from Volcano Manor) bears a striking resemblance to the Dancer of Ranah, a fitting detail considering Tanith's past as a dancer.
However, some unexpected details also emerged. Hornsent, for instance, lacks horns in the model, likely due to the need for a completely unique character model to incorporate them. This omission has sparked discussion among fans, who suggest that the DLC should have included horn customization options alongside the new hairstyles.
