Dungeonborne Officially Set to Close Down

May 16,25

The team behind the PvPvE action game Dungeonborne, which drew inspiration from the renowned Dark and Darker, has officially announced the cessation of support and the impending closure of its servers. Launched with high hopes, the game unfortunately did not manage to maintain a steady player base, primarily due to insufficient player engagement and a dearth of substantial updates over its less-than-a-year lifespan.

While Dungeonborne's page remains visible on Steam, it has been removed from the platform's search results and is now only accessible through a direct link. The developers have not provided specific reasons for the shutdown, but it is evident that the game's critically low player numbers were a significant factor. From late 2024 onwards, the game struggled to attract more than 200 concurrent players, with recent statistics showing a drastic decline to merely 10-15 players active at any given time.

The final chapter for Dungeonborne will be written on May 28, when its servers will be permanently taken offline, concluding the game's journey. Despite an initial surge of interest from fans of the genre, Dungeonborne will ultimately be remembered as a project that failed to reach its full potential.
