In the lead-up to the launch, developer Funcom has introduced the Character Creator and Benchmark Mode. These tools allow players to start their journey to Arrakis by meticulously crafting their character and ensuring their PC is up to the task.

With the Character Creator, you have the freedom to customize every detail of your character's appearance. You can also select your home planet, caste, and a mentor or class, which will shape your journey in the game. Characters created now will seamlessly transfer into the full game upon release. As an added bonus, early creators will receive an exclusive Frameblade knife skin, which can be redeemed at launch with a special code.

The Benchmark Sequence is designed to test your PC's performance and automatically adjust graphics settings for the best experience. This sequence takes you through a player-built base in the desert, then to the bustling Harko Village, a key Harkonnen player hub, and finally, an intense encounter with a massive sandworm.

Dune: Awakening will be available for USD 49.99, and pre-orders will soon be available on Steam. Pre-ordering comes with a unique in-base decoration, the Terrarium of Muad’Dib, featuring the beloved desert kangaroo mouse from the series.
