Dragon Quest X is coming to mobile, but so far only in Japan
Dragon Quest X Offline is finally coming to mobile devices in Japan! This marks a significant release for fans of the long-running series, offering a single-player experience of the MMORPG title. The offline version, originally released in 2022 for consoles and PC, will be available for iOS and Android tomorrow at a discounted price.
Gematsu reports that this mobile release features offline functionality, a departure from the original 2012 online-only release. Interestingly, plans to bring Dragon Quest X to mobile were initially announced by Ubitu back in 2013. The game boasts real-time combat and other MMORPG elements, a unique twist for the Dragon Quest franchise.
Unfortunately, a global release for Dragon Quest X Offline remains unconfirmed. Given the original game's Japan-only launch, international availability is uncertain. This is disappointing news for many fans, including this writer, who has fond memories of the series.
