Bethesda and id Software showcased a new DOOM: The Dark Ages demo during the Xbox showcase, confirming earlier leaks of a May 15th release date.

This medieval-themed installment offers a unique gameplay experience distinct from DOOM: Eternal. Players will adopt a more grounded combat style, less reliant on constant movement and parkour. Instead, the focus shifts to powerful, sustained attacks using a heavy arsenal.

Central to this brutal approach are a shield and mace. A significant addition is the inclusion of a giant mech, providing players with a powerful advantage against smaller demons. Furthermore, dragon riding will be a feature during the campaign.

The game boasts a customizable difficulty system, allowing players to fine-tune various aspects, including enemy damage and overall challenge.
