NieR: Automata resource management can be tricky. While some materials are plentiful, upgrading numerous weapons requires significant quantities, even of common resources like Dented Plates. This guide outlines efficient farming strategies for this crucial material.

Farming Dented Plates in NieR: Automata

Dented Plates are frequently dropped by:

  • Small Bipeds (all variants)
  • Small Flyers (all variants)
  • Small Spheres (all variants)

These common enemies are prevalent throughout the game. However, relying solely on respawning enemies via fast travel isn't the most efficient method.

The optimal location for Dented Plate farming is the arena where you first encounter Adam in the main storyline.

Fast travel to the Desert: Housing Complex access point. Proceed deeper into the ruins and descend to the pit. Here, machines continuously respawn, primarily basic Bipeds, providing a consistent Dented Plate source. While enemy levels may vary depending on your game progress, the drop rate remains respectable. This location is also beneficial for Titanium Alloy farming.

Alternatively, the Forest Kingdom offers numerous groups of spear-wielding Bipeds. These groups typically yield at least one Dented Plate. Exploring the forest also provides opportunities to gather Beast Hide. Note that higher-level Bipeds have a higher Dented Plate drop rate, so progressing the story increases your chances of finding them.

Finally, equipping drop-rate boosting plug-in chips significantly improves your yield. Remember to avoid death to prevent permanent chip loss.
