Digimon Story: Time Stranger Leaks Before State of Play

A potential leak from GameStop suggests an upcoming Digimon game, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, may be unveiled during tonight's PlayStation State of Play. Gematsu uncovered pre-order listings on GameStop's website for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game, though details remain scarce.

The timing of the leak, just hours before Sony's 40-minute State of Play presentation, strongly hints at an official announcement. While Sony hasn't revealed the presentation's contents, the possibility of a Digimon Story: Time Stranger reveal is high.

The Digimon Story franchise boasts a history dating back to the mid-2000s with the original Nintendo DS title. Subsequent releases across various platforms include Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth (2015), Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory (2017), and a 2019 Complete Edition encompassing both Cyber Sleuth titles. These games typically feature RPG gameplay centered around befriending and battling Digimon.

Following a 2022 tease from franchise producer Kazumashu Habu hinting at a new Story game, fans have eagerly awaited a new installment. While titles like Digimon Survive bridged the gap, the appearance of Digimon Story: Time Stranger pre-orders suggests this wait may soon conclude.
