Get Your Pet
Kicking off your journey in Diablo 4 Season 7? Head straight to the nearest town with a Wardrobe and snag your pet. While they won't join the fray, pets are invaluable for automatically collecting gold and materials, freeing you up to focus on combat and loot.
Grab Your Mercenaries
If you've got the Vessel of Hatred expansion, visit the Den to recruit a Mercenary. Solo players can enjoy the company of two Mercenaries, easing the grind and boosting your combat prowess. Building Rapport with them can unlock additional rewards, making them a crucial asset.
Follow the Seasonal Questline and Level Up
Begin on Normal difficulty and dive into the seasonal questline, easily spotted by green leaf icons on your map. This path will introduce you to new mechanics like Headhunt zones, Grim Favors for the Tree of Whispers, and Witch powers. The questline isn't long but includes puzzles and requires farming Favors in Headhunt zones. This is also the fastest way to hit level 60—keep tackling those zone bosses, collecting Favors, and enhancing your Witch powers.
Unlock Your Class Power
A handy feature this season: if you've completed class-specific priority quests on a previous character, you won't need to redo them. Just log in with that character on the Eternal realm first. For example, if you're creating a new Rogue for Season 7, log in with an existing Rogue who's completed the quests. Once you reach the required level with your new character, your class power will unlock automatically.
Headhunt Zones
While navigating Headhunt zones, don't forget to complete the Whispers. With four zones active at any time, opt for the smaller, more compact ones for higher enemy density and quicker mob farming. Prioritize these two Whisper quests:
- Fugitive: Recover a head or destroy a husk by defeating Elites and interacting with roots.
- Shepherd: Escort animals around the map—an easy task to complete.
Every 10 Grim Favors can be traded at the Tree of Whispers for a cache. Alternatively, you can turn in your Favors to a Raven of the Tree found in each Headhunt zone, saving you the trip back to the Tree of Whispers.
Witchcraft Powers
At the Tree of Whispers, use the Altars of Witchcraft to buy and upgrade Witchcraft powers with Restless Rot, earned from defeating Rot enemies. While the initial purchase is affordable, upgrades can be costly. Focus on powers that boost your damage for passive benefits. Some unique Witch powers are only available at Forgotten Altars, which can appear in regular dungeons, Nightmare Dungeons, Pits, and Rootholds at Torment 1 difficulty. Use a Draught of Whispers to increase your chances of finding one.
Rootholds
New to Season 7, Rootholds are accessed using Whispering Woods, obtained from Whispers and Silent Chests. These dungeons offer a rogue-lite experience with negative modifiers that enhance loot quality. As you progress, open Exposed Roots for rewards, influenced by the modifiers. Save your Roothold keys for Torment 1 to maximize Ancestral loot gains.
Occult Gems
Late in your journey, speak with Gelena at the Tree of Whispers to craft Occult Gems for your jewelry, outperforming standard gems. These gems are pricey, requiring ample Restless Rot and Heads, which drop from Roothold bosses and Fugitives in Headhunt zones. Draughts of Whispers can boost your chances of obtaining Heads.
Pits, Infernal Hordes, and Nightmare Dungeons
Don't neglect Pits and Nightmare Dungeons; they're essential for earning Glyphs and leveling them up. Additionally, farm Infernal Hordes for masterworking materials to enhance your Uniques.
That wraps up our comprehensive progression guide for Diablo 4 Season 7. For more tips and updates, be sure to check out The Escapist.
