Diablo 4 Season 5 may bring a surprise for World of Warcraft fans: the iconic Frostmourne! Data miners exploring the Season 5 Public Test Realm (PTR) have uncovered models strikingly similar to the Lich King's legendary blade. This suggests the terrifying weapon could be obtainable in the upcoming Diablo 4 update, slated for August.

The current Diablo 4 Season 5 PTR runs until July 2nd. This update promises new challenges, items, and quests, bridging the gap until the "Vessel of Hatred" expansion launches October 8th.

Wowhead's discovery of two Frostmourne models hints at multiple versions, possibly one-handed and two-handed. While its exact implementation remains unknown – cosmetic, legendary weapon, or something else entirely – the possibility of wielding Frostmourne in Diablo 4 is tantalizing.

Frostmourne's Arrival in Diablo 4

Frostmourne holds legendary status in Warcraft lore, a cursed blade that corrupted Arthas Menethil, leading to his transformation into the Lich King. Though destroyed and reforged in WoW, Diablo 4 might offer the first opportunity to wield it directly.

This isn't the first WoW crossover. Last October, Diablo 4's cash shop featured Invincible, a rare WoW mount, complete with Frostmourne and the Helm of Domination replicas. However, the new models suggest actual weapon usage, not just cosmetic display.

Season 5's class weapon expansion further fuels speculation. Druids gain access to polearms, one-handed swords, and daggers; Necromancers to maces and axes; and Sorcerers to one-handed swords and maces. A one-handed Frostmourne would be usable by every current Diablo 4 class.
