The ghostly voices haunting Khazan manifest into the Blade Phantom on the Trials of the Frozen Mountain level on Stormpass. True to its name, this boss will test your ability to manage stamina and aggression against its relentless attacks. The fight kicks off in a castle filled with crimson liquid, setting the stage for an intense battle.

In the first phase, the Blade Phantom unleashes a variety of attacks:

  • A six-hit combo with four punches and two kicks, with the second being a delayed attack.
  • A three-hit combo with two punches followed by a downward kick.
  • A four-hit combo starting with a right hook, followed by two kicks, and ending with a leaping kick smash.
  • A three-hit combo of flashing punches, followed by a grab that you must dodge.

Beyond these melee attacks, the Blade Phantom can summon a giant hammer, causing damage and spawning red spikes. If it uses a spear, be ready for a quick throw and a teleporting smash. When wielding a blade, it will engage with a swift six-hit combo. The boss can also disappear, dashing around the battlefield before striking.

Mastering the timing of these attacks is crucial. By parrying or dodging effectively, you can find openings to attack and reduce its stamina, setting up for a Brutal Attack. Keep this strategy up until you deplete about half its health, which triggers the second phase.

Phase 2

In the second phase, the Blade Phantom begins with four claw attacks, followed by a high spear throw. Evade the affected area after the spear lands, and prepare for a leaping swipe. This is followed by three greatsword slashes and a final hammer smash.

The Blade Phantom's arsenal expands to include new claw attacks, while maintaining many of its original moves. Be cautious of the spear thrust and follow-up, as well as swift dual-wielding attacks ranging from four to six sets. Teleportation becomes more frequent, and when armed with the greatsword, watch for multiple slashes culminating in a Burst Attack, signaled by a red P-like symbol on the screen. Successfully parry this with a Counterattack (L1/LB + Circle/B) to restore your stamina and leave the boss vulnerable.

Maximize your damage by attacking when the Blade Phantom's stamina is depleted, and initiate the Brutal Attack just as the window is about to close. This strategy will help you secure victory and earn rewards such as 8,640 Lacrima, Soul Eater gear items, a Shieldsman’s Ring, and Netherworld Mineral for crafting.
