Dead Island 2's Patch 6 introduces New Game Plus (NG+), allowing players to replay the entire game with increased difficulty. Your leveled-up character, inventory, and three additional skill slots carry over. The level cap increases, and you'll encounter new weapons, skins, and enemies.

Prepare to face the Revenants—powerful, evolved Apex zombies with enhanced abilities and unpredictable behavior, designed to significantly increase the challenge. The developers promise a drastically heightened difficulty, especially when combined with New Game Plus features. To counter this increased challenge, all weapons in NG+ are more powerful than their base game counterparts, with a greater variety of fixed-rarity weapons to discover.

The update also adds the innovative "Neighborhood Watch" horde mode. This blend of horde and tower defense gameplay tasks players with defending their base over five in-game days. The first four days are dedicated to fending off relentless zombie hordes while completing objectives to earn essential gear.
