Days Gone Remastered Accessibility Features Revealed Ahead of Launch

Days Gone Remastered is approaching its release date, with Bend Studio unveiling key accessibility improvements for the enhanced version - including adjustable game speed for intense moments.

Slower Paced Survival

In a PlayStation Blog update, Bend Studio's Creative & Product Lead Kevin McAllister detailed the remaster's accessibility options. Players can now reduce game speed by increments from 100% down to 25%, designed to ease high-pressure combat scenarios.

"The adjustable speed setting helps gamers who might struggle during intense situations or have input difficulties when facing Freaker hordes," McAllister explained. "Since horde encounters are central to Days Gone's gameplay - especially with our new Horde Assault mode - we wanted to make this experience more inclusive."

Comprehensive Accessibility Suite

The remaster introduces multiple accessibility upgrades including:

  • Customizable subtitle colors
  • High Contrast Mode
  • UI narration support
  • Audio cues for collectibles

The previously restricted auto-complete QTE feature will now be available across all difficulty levels, from Easy through Survival II.

While these features debut in the remaster, Bend confirmed most will also be patched into the PC version. Certain controller-dependent features will require compatible hardware.

Enhanced Post-Apocalyptic Adventure

Announced in February, Days Gone Remastered builds upon the 2019 open-world zombie thriller with:

  • Upgraded photo mode
  • New permadeath option
  • Speedrun support
  • The comprehensive accessibility package

The motorcycle survival adventure roars onto PS5 on April 25, 2025. PS4 owners can upgrade for $10.
