Dark Instruments Guide: Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii
*Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii* introduces Goro Majima with two distinct fighting styles, including the "Sea Dog" pirate style, which boasts four powerful finishers ideal for managing large crowds. However, collecting all the dark instruments in the game is no small feat. Let's dive into how to acquire each of these coveted items.
How To Obtain The Dark God’s Violin in Pirate Yakuza
The Dark God’s Violin marks the first Dark Instrument you can unlock in *Pirate Yakuza* and is essential for advancing the main storyline. You'll encounter it during Chapter 2, where Jason, one of your crew members, directs you to meet an old friend. This meeting leads to a confrontation with the Devil Flag pirates, who have slain Jason's friend and stolen the Pharoh Stone.
After the tragic encounter, you'll meet Misaki, the orphaned daughter of the slain friend, who joins the Goro Pirates seeking vengeance. This sets the stage for a side story that leads you to the islands east of Madlantis. Here, you'll face a formidable fleet of Devil Flag pirates, stronger than any you've encountered before. Focus your attacks on the boss ship to advance to the onboard fight. Upon defeating the Devil Flags, you'll obtain the Dark God’s Violin, which you can immediately test in a 100-enemy brawl on the island.
Following the victory, a cutscene introduces you to the leaders of the massive fleet: Yakuza, Ronin, Shinobi, and Zeus. They challenge the Goro Pirates, kicking off the side quest. While unnecessary for the main story, defeating all Devil Flags is crucial for collecting all Dark Instruments.
How To Obtain The Dark God’s Ocarina in Pirate Yakuza
After securing the Dark God’s Violin and engaging in the initial 100-enemy brawl, you'll notice special Devil Flag markers across the seas in *Pirate Yakuza*. Defeating these ships earns you Devil Flags, and you'll need 70 to progress to the next Dark Instrument. Engage any Devil Flag ships or treasure islands you encounter to quickly gather these flags.
Once you've collected 70 flags, Atali Island will unlock on your map. Prepare a robust landing party as you'll face multiple waves of attackers. After navigating through these waves, you'll reach the treasure chest containing the Dark God’s Ocarina. However, you must first defeat Devil Flag Captain Yakuza to claim it.

How To Obtain The Dark God’s Guitar in Pirate Yakuza
Post-defeating Captain Yakuza, a series of cutscenes will unfold, leading you to an island supposedly housing the Pharoh Stone. This turns out to be a trap, triggering another 100-enemy fight where you can utilize your newly acquired Dark God’s Ocarina.
Learning that Zeus is en route to Flame Island, you'll face a challenging gauntlet requiring a three-star ranking and 130 Devil Flags. Sail to the Flame Entrance Lighthouse to trigger a cutscene, then conquer four treasure islands: Sunset, Heatwave, Welldone, and Scorching Heat. Note that these islands don't allow health item consumption during battles, so ensure your party is well-prepared.
After clearing the islands, another fleet battle awaits, where focusing on the boss ship is key. After defeating the first mate onboard, land on Flame Island with Jason, Masaru, Minami, and Saejima. Navigate through small battles to face Captain Ronin, using either of your Dark Instruments to triumph. Victory here grants access to the treasure chest with the Dark God of the Earth’s Guitar.
How To Obtain the Dark God’s Saxophone in Pirate Yakuza
The Dark God’s Saxophone is the final Dark Instrument to collect, requiring a Pirate Rank Four. Increase your rank by completing main story missions, recruiting crew members, and engaging in mini-games and side quests. You'll also need 220 Devil Flags.
Sail to the Frost Entrance Lighthouse to initiate a cutscene and a battle with the Devil Flag's Fleet blocking Frost Island. Four additional islands (Snowview, Coldwave, Icicle Island, and Glacial) are available for plundering and flag collection.
Defeat Captain Shinobi’s First Fleet before landing on Frost Island. Navigate through battles leading to a cave, then a recovery area to restore health. The final boss fight against Captain Shinobi awaits. After defeating him, a cutscene shows Zeus taking Misaki hostage, concluding with Goro obtaining the Dark God’s Saxophone.
A final showdown with Zeus to rescue Misaki remains, marking one of the game's toughest battles. While not necessary for collecting all Dark Instruments, finishing the leader of the Devil Flags is a fitting end to your journey.
And that's how you obtain all Dark Instruments in *Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii*.
