Crusader Kings III Chapter IV: Expanding Horizons with Mongols and Asia
Paradox Interactive has unveiled an exciting roadmap for Crusader Kings III in 2025, labeled as Chapter IV, with a strong focus on expanding the game's reach into Asia. This chapter promises a blend of new mechanics and expansive regions for players to delve into, enriching the gameplay experience.
The journey begins with the recently released cosmetic DLC, Crowns of the World. This charming addition brings six crowns, four hairstyles, and two beards to the table, allowing players to further customize their rulers and make them stand out on the global stage.
Come April 28, the first major DLC, Khans of the Steppe, will launch, inviting players to take the reins of the formidable Mongols. As the Great Khan, you'll lead your nomadic horde across vast steppes, conquering and establishing your dominance over neighboring lands with strategic prowess.
In the third quarter (July–September), the Coronations DLC will introduce a new ceremonial mechanic that lets players legitimize their reign through opulent coronation events. These ceremonies will not only involve hosting lavish festivities but also making solemn vows that will shape the future of your kingdom. The addition of new advisor and vassal events will further enrich the political landscape, offering deeper engagement with your realm's inner workings.
The chapter will culminate with the release of All Under Heaven later in the year, a monumental expansion that unveils the entirety of East Asia on the map. Players will have the chance to explore and conquer detailed regions of China, Korea, Japan, and the Indonesian islands, opening up a world of new strategic opportunities.
Between these major DLC releases, Paradox Interactive plans to roll out patches aimed at refining game systems and enhancing AI behavior. The developers are keen on incorporating player feedback into these updates, and the next Q&A session is scheduled for March 26, providing a platform for the community to contribute to the game's evolution.
