I stumbled upon my first one while searching for offering items to unlock the Fire Seal on Floor 60, but keep in mind that chests can appear on any level across all biomes. Be cautious of mimic enemies, which can pose as chests and deal damage upon interaction.

Essence Stones come in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. While smaller stones are more common, diligent exploration can lead you to larger deposits. If you're struggling to find them, consider crafting them once you've built the Stone Refinery within the mines.

How To Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Crafting Essence Stones is possible at the Stone Refinery in *Fields of Mistria*. This new feature was introduced as part of a story quest in the March 2025 update, requiring you to construct the refinery from scratch within the mines. After completing the necessary quests, Adeline will enlist your help alongside Olric and Errol.

To build the Stone Refinery, gather the following materials:

• x200 Wood
• x400 Stone
• x5,000 Tesserae

Once the refinery is operational, you can craft Essence Stones of various sizes using Stone and Essence. The amount of materials needed varies with the size of the stone. Refer to the table below for detailed crafting requirements:

How To Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update brought the auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics to *Fields of Mistria*, both of which rely on Essence Stones to function. Larger stones provide a longer charge, with Large Essence Stones offering the most extended duration.

The auto-petter mechanic is linked to the Animal Sprite Statue, which you can place in Large Barns and Coops. This statue automatically pets all animals inside daily, as long as an Essence Stone is powering it. You can find this rare statue in a concealed cave next to Errol’s house in the Narrows by using the Dragon’s Breath spell on the entrance. Once unlocked, you can craft additional statues if needed.

The sprinkler mechanic is activated by the Water Sprite Statue, which you can place anywhere on your farm to automatically water crops within a 2-tile radius when powered by an Essence Stone. You can craft more of these statues to cover larger areas of your farm. The statue and its crafting scroll are located on a small island east of the beach, beyond the Lighthouse area. Swim to the island and use Dragon’s Breath to access the entrance.

As *Fields of Mistria* continues to evolve with future updates from NPC Studio, Essence Stones are likely to play an even more significant role in enhancing your gameplay experience.
