How to Craft Artian Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds

Artian Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds

Unlocking Artian weapons is your first step. You'll need to complete the main story to access High Rank, then proceed further to take down your initial Tempered monster. While we won't spoil which beast it is, you'll recognize it by the NPCs' remarks on its formidable appearance and numerous scars.

After vanquishing this challenging foe, a conversation with Gemma will introduce you to Artian weapons. She'll guide you through a tutorial, explaining that crafting these weapons involves three components per weapon type. To create any weapon, you must have at least one component of each type. However, the customization goes much deeper.

Each component boasts a rarity value, an element type, and an Artian bonus. For components to be compatible, they must share the same rarity value. The elemental effect of your weapon is determined by the most prevalent element among your components. For example, using two water components and one lightning will result in a water weapon. Using three water components amplifies the water infusion, but using three different elements negates any elemental infusion.

The Artian bonus offers a choice between an attack boost, enhancing your weapon's damage output, or an affinity boost, increasing your critical hit chance. Your choice depends on your preferred playstyle. To craft these weapons, you'll need to gather Artian materials.

How to Get Artian Materials in Monster Hunter Wilds

Artian Materials in Monster Hunter Wilds

Obtaining Artian materials involves hunting Tempered monsters in High Rank. After defeating your first Tempered monster, you'll start encountering one or two in each area. You'll receive notifications about their presence, and they're easily identifiable on the map with a blue outline.

Defeating or capturing these Tempered monsters yields Artian parts, which you can find among your main mission rewards and decorations. As your Hunter Rank increases, the rarity of these parts also improves, allowing for natural progression. Although there's no direct correlation between the monster you hunt and the type of Artian parts you receive, feel free to target monsters you enjoy fighting or those whose parts you need for other weapons or armor.
