She'll guide you through a tutorial, explaining that crafting these weapons involves three components per weapon type. To create any weapon, you must have at least one component of each type. However, the customization goes much deeper.

Each component boasts a rarity value, an element type, and an Artian bonus. For components to be compatible, they must share the same rarity value. The elemental effect of your weapon is determined by the most prevalent element among your components. For example, using two water components and one lightning will result in a water weapon. Using three water components amplifies the water infusion, but using three different elements negates any elemental infusion.
