Excitement is building as the renowned composer of the Persona series and Metaphor: ReFantazio, Shoji Meguro, steps into the spotlight with his latest project, *Guns Undarkness*. This eagerly anticipated tactical stealth RPG is set to launch a free demo during the upcoming Steam Next Fest, giving fans a taste of what's to come.
Guns Undarkness Will Launch Demo At Steam Next Fest
Mark your calendars for February 24, 2025, as *Guns Undarkness* unveils its free demo at Steam Next Fest. This thrilling project is helmed by Shoji Meguro, a long-time composer at Atlus since 1995, known for his work on iconic titles like the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona series. In 2021, Meguro ventured into indie game development while still collaborating with Atlus on music. His latest endeavor, *Guns Undarkness*, a Sci-Fi Stealth Action JRPG, is being published under Kodansha Game Creators Lab.
The game first caught the public's attention at Indie Live Expo Winter 2021 and successfully met its Kickstarter goals in 2022. Following the demo, *Guns Undarkness* is slated for early access release later this year, promising a rich gaming experience.
Inspired by Metal Gear Solid and Persona
Set against the backdrop of a world teetering on the edge of destruction in 2045, *Guns Undarkness* offers a "turn-based tactical JRPG" inspired by classics like Metal Gear Solid and Persona. Players take on the role of a member of a private military company, embarking on missions to uncover the world's secrets and save humanity.
The gameplay is divided into stealth and battle sections. In stealth mode, players navigate the field discreetly, gaining strategic advantages by staying undetected. Battles are turn-based, where players issue commands and utilize various firearms to overcome enemies.
The *Guns Undarkness* demo will offer around 20 minutes of gameplay, including a tutorial on basic controls, the battle system, weapon use, and early-game strategies. The full game is scheduled for an Early Access release in Spring 2025, with an estimated 10 hours of playtime on PC. While no specific release date has been announced, fans are eagerly awaiting further updates on this promising title.
