To embark on the "Under the Straw Hat" quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you'll first need to reach Kuttenberg and begin the prerequisite quest, "In Vino Veritas." This side quest introduces you to Casper Rudolf, a winemaker offering free samples in the western part of Kuttenberg. He needs your help gathering information to improve his wine.

You can choose to either impress Havel with your wine knowledge directly (requiring fancy clothes and a clean appearance, and selecting "Germany," "Steinberger," and "It's missing ginger" in dialogue) or retrieve Casper's book from Adleta, gaining wine knowledge through reading. Either way, your goal is to gather information from Havel and report back to Casper.

Next, Casper requests you infiltrate the vineyard north of Kuttenberg to investigate a specific incense. Approaching the vineyard directly constitutes trespassing. Instead, follow the main road, speak to the recruiter who will initiate the "Under the Straw Hat" quest, and proceed to find Jerome sitting on a bench within the estate. Inform Jerome of your assignment.

Your vineyard work begins the following day. You can either diligently perform your assigned tasks (moving sacks and collecting thistles) to earn payment or bypass this and head straight for the incense. The incense is located in the cellar of the main building. Access requires either lockpicking skills or stealing Jerome's keys.

Once in the cellar, retrieve the Sulphur Wicks from the chest. This completes the main objective. For a larger reward, you can also collect five seedlings (located across the building from the cellar entrance – be quick to avoid detection). Return to Casper with the wicks (and seedlings, if collected) to finish both "Under the Straw Hat" and "In Vino Veritas." You're now free to tackle other quests, such as "Master Schindel’s Toys."
