CoH iOS Port Debuts Skirmish Mode
Company of Heroes, Relic Entertainment's acclaimed RTS title, ported to mobile by Feral Interactive, is finally getting multiplayer! A recent iOS beta update introduces the highly anticipated skirmish mode.
Relic Entertainment is known for the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War series, but many also cherish their WWII RTS, Company of Heroes. The original mobile version lacked multiplayer, a significant omission now rectified.
The iOS Company of Heroes page announces the arrival of online skirmish mode in beta. Players can now battle as various factions, including the Americans and Germans, and those from the Opposing Fronts expansion (UK and Panzer Elite).
Company of Heroes masterfully blends realistic warfare with accessible RTS gameplay. Superior units aren't a guarantee of victory; tactical errors can quickly decimate your forces.
While I preferred AI opponents due to the skill level of some human players, this addition is a major win for fans. The polished iOS port is now even more complete.
