Code Geass: Lost Stories' Global Mobile Finale Approaches

Jan 05,25

The mobile strategy tower defense game, Code Geass: Lost Stories, is closing its doors to global players. While the Japanese version will continue, the global servers will shut down on August 29th, 2024. This means no new downloads, in-app purchases, or logins will be possible after that date. The game's global social media presence will also cease on the same day.

Developed by f4samurai and DMM Games, and published by Komoe, the game launched globally in September 2023, falling short of its first anniversary. The reasons for the closure haven't been explicitly stated, but low download numbers and generally unfavorable global reviews are likely contributing factors. Many licensed anime gacha games struggle to maintain a player base outside Japan due to lower player spending.

Despite its short lifespan globally, the game, based on the popular Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion franchise, maintains a following in Japan and remains available on the Japanese Google Play Store. Players interested in experiencing the game should consider the Japanese version.
