Firaxis Games Unveils Civ 7 Post-Launch Roadmap

Firaxis Games has revealed its post-launch roadmap for Civilization VII (Civ 7), detailing upcoming content following the game's February 11th release. The roadmap includes both paid DLC and free updates.

Paid DLC: New Leaders

The first wave of paid downloadable content will feature Ada Lovelace and Simon Bolivar as playable leaders. These are expected in March.

Free Updates: Geographic Wonders and More

March's free update will introduce the Bermuda Triangle and Mount Everest as new geographic features to the game world.

Further free updates are planned, though release dates are not yet confirmed. These future updates include:

  • Multiplayer team functionality
  • Expansion of multiplayer capacity to 8 players
  • Player selection of starting and ending ages
  • A greater variety of map types
  • Hotseat multiplayer mode

Future Content:

Beyond March's updates, Firaxis plans to release additional content, including 2 more leaders, 4 new civilizations, and 4 new World Wonders, along with new events and challenges. This content is slated for a later release date, with additional content planned for October 2025 and beyond. The initial launch did not include all planned features, and developers are working to release these as soon as possible.
