PlayBaldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 new subclasses: ---------------------------------------

Bard - College of Glamour
As a College of Glamour Bard, you'll harness the power to both heal your allies and command your enemies. With Mantle of Inspiration, you can grant your allies 5 temporary hit points, and if an enemy attacks while this is active, they'll be Charmed. Use Mantle of Majesty to manipulate Charmed enemies, compelling them to flee, approach, freeze, drop to the ground, or disarm.

Barbarian - Path of Giants
Choose the Path of Giants for your Barbarian and gain immense strength. The Giant’s Rage passive not only boosts your size but also enhances your Throw attacks for additional damage. Plus, enjoy an increased carry capacity, making those heavy items a breeze to manage.

Cleric - Death Domain
Embrace the dark arts as a Death Domain Cleric, wielding spells that deal necrotic damage and three new necromancy cantrips. Toll The Dead rings a bell of doom, causing 1-8 damage, with the potential for increased damage if the target is already wounded. You can also unleash a homebrewed ability to detonate nearby corpses, causing widespread damage.

Druid - Circle of Stars
Star-gazing Druids from the Circle of Stars tap into celestial powers beyond traditional wildshapes. Choose from three Starry Forms - the Archer for radiant damage, the Chalice for healing, or the Dragon for enhanced constitution and damage. These forms not only look stellar but also offer strategic advantages in combat.

Paladin - Oath of the Crown
Sworn to uphold the law, the Oath of the Crown Paladin uses Righteous Clarity to guide allies in battle, taunts foes strategically, and employs Divine Allegiance to absorb damage and restore health, keeping your party strong.

Fighter - Arcane Archer
The Arcane Archer combines magic and archery, offering unique skills and new shooting animations. Banish enemies to the Feywild or unleash Psychic damage that can blind foes with a failed Wisdom saving throw.

Monk - Drunken Master
The Drunken Master Monk can drink alcohol from inventory or around the Sword Coast to recover Ki. With Intoxicating Strike, share the bottle to buff your Armour Class and hit chance against Drunk targets. Use Sobering Realisation to sober up enemies while dealing physical and Psychic damage.

Ranger - Swarmkeeper
The Swarmkeeper Ranger commands three types of swarms: Cloud of Jellyfish for lightning damage, Flurry of Moths for Psychic damage and potential blindness, and Legion of Bees for piercing damage and knockback. Each swarm also grants teleportation capabilities.

Rogue - Swashbuckler
Embrace the piratical life with the Swashbuckler Rogue. Blind enemies with sand, disarm them by flicking your weapon, and use Fancy Footwork to avoid opportunity attacks after meleeing.

Sorcerer - Shadow Magic
As a Shadow Magic Sorcerer, thrive in darkness with Superior Darkvision and Shadow Walk between dim light or darkness. Summon the Hound of Ill Omen to harass foes and use Strength of the Grave to prevent being downed, especially useful in Honour Mode.

Warlock - Hexblade
Hexblade Warlocks pact with Shadowfell entities, wielding magical weapons. Curse enemies, raise their spirits to deal necrotic damage, and heal by ripping away enemy souls for ten turns.

Wizard - Bladesinging
The Bladesinging Wizard blends swordplay with magic. New spellcasting animations, Bladesong for supernatural speed and agility, and a bonus to Constitution saving throws enhance your combat prowess.

Every IGN 10 of 2023

18 ImagesPatch 8 marks the final major update for Baldur’s Gate 3, closing a remarkable chapter for Larian Studios. Launched to critical acclaim and commercial success in 2023, the game has continued to thrive into 2025.

Larian surprised the gaming community by announcing its departure from Baldur’s Gate 3 and Dungeons & Dragons to focus on a new, undisclosed project, entering a media blackout to concentrate on development.

Meanwhile, Hasbro, the owner of D&D, has hinted at continuing the series. In a recent interview with IGN at the Game Developers Conference, Dan Ayoub, SVP of digital games at Hasbro, mentioned that with Larian moving on, there's significant interest in Baldur's Gate. "We're kind of working out our plans for the future and what we're going to be doing with that. And actually, in pretty short order, we're going to have some stuff to talk about around that," Ayoub stated. While he didn't specify if this would be a new Baldur's Gate game or another form of engagement, he expressed a desire for a Baldur's Gate 4, though acknowledging it would take time. "We're not in a hurry. Right? That's the thing, we're going to take a very measured approach... We've got a lot of plans, a lot of different ways to go about it. We're starting to think about, okay, yeah, we're ready to start dipping toes a little bit and talking about a few things. And I think, in really short order, like I said, again, not to over-tease that point, we're going to have some other things to talk about around that."

To celebrate the release of Patch 8, Larian will host a Twitch livestream where senior systems designer Ross Stephens will detail the new changes and additions.
